Cheshunt Hockey
Clubs History
Cheshunt Ladies
have been in existence since pre-war and were
originally based at Grundy Park, Cheshunt.
In 1972 we moved
base to the Cheshunt Club, Albury Ride, Cheshunt.
In 1974 the Men's
Section was formed.
Teams played their home fixtures on the adjacent
grass pitches, which were part of the Cheshunt
Cricket Club out field. With the ascendancy of
astroturf hockey, the club were drawn to alternative
locations to find suitable playing facilities.
All home fixtures are now played at Goff's School,
Goff's Lane, Cheshunt.
In 1997, the two
respective sections of Cheshunt Club merged to
become The Cheshunt Hockey Club. Having established
very strong social links at The Cheshunt Club,
it was decided to maintain this as a base whilst
continuing to use the astro facilities at Goff's
School.
The Cheshunt Club
has a very wide range of sports, including Indoor
and Outdoor Bowls, Squash, Cricket, Boxing and
Fitness sections. The club has also has its own
function hall and catering facilities, as well
as a fully licensed bar and family room.
